A Wearable Device for Physical Activity Monitoring With Built-in Heart Rate Variability
This paper presents the implementation of a system to sense, collect and store physiology activities for the purpose of monitoring the elderly people and the people who are taking medication. The system includes a wearable device to be worn by the individual to collect physical activity data, a memory card, and a computer to retrieve and analyze data. A heart beat measurement is also included to provide better monitoring. Accelerometer and gyroscope are the main sensing devices. A high capacity SD card is used for data storing. Testing results show the system function properly and provide accurate data for monitoring purposes.
