Using Milk of Lime for Neutralization Precipitation in a High Density Sludge Process to Treat Acid Mine Drainage of a Gold-Copper Mine

摘要：

The disposal technology of the acid mine drainage of gold copper mine with milk of lime for neutralization/precipitation in a high density sludge (HDS) method was studied. The results show that, comparing with the traditional lime neutralization, the consumption of lime can be reduced by 33.3％, the water content of the sludge produced is lowered to 67.6％. By adopting this method, the treatment cost and the fouling of equipment will be significantly reduced.
