Investigation of Catalyst Copper Supported on Ceramic Honeycomb Substrate for the SCR of NO
Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) with ammonia is a well-proven technique for NOx removal and it is very effective in NOx reduction with an efficient up to 98%. However, the current SCR catalyst has a limitation on operation temperature and a narrow operation temperature window. The paper presents the results of a study on catalyst Cu Supported on ceramic honeycomb substrate to investigate the low temperature performance of exiting SCR systems. The study also includes preparation, activity tests and characterization of the selected catalysts, as well as the effects of H2O, GHSV and calcinations temperature on the activity of the catalysts in ammonia selective catalytic reduction reaction with an excess of oxygen. Results show that an effective conversion of NOx can be achieved a temperature range of 200 °C to 350°C by using Cu-Ni-Ce catalyst with ammonia as the reductant.
