Simulation of Pollutant Release from Submerged Soil in the New-built Baohe Reservoir
Pollutants release from submerged soil will affect the water quality for a new-built reservoir during the preliminary water storage. The Baohe reservoir is the only one regulating reservoir in the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project (SNWTP). The pollutant release from soil is the important way to impact the water quality of the Baohe reservoir at the beginning of water storage. In the paper, the soil samples in the reservoir are collected and analyzed. In the laboratory, the simulations is designed. Then the changes of the different types of nitrogen ( N NO.. 3, N NO.. 2, N NH.. 4, 3 NH and total nitrogen), total phosphorus, COD and heavy metals, which are released from soil, are simulated and analyzed. The results show that during the first 16 days, these pollutants are not higher than the grade Ⅱ standard of surface water quality, China. The reservoir soil will have not notable impacts on water quality during the beginning of water storage.
