CARTOGRAPHIC EDUCATION IN GEOINFORMATICS AGE

The whole cartography undergoes a period of change. It turns from specialized branch science with limited practical use into full member of informatics, and World Wide Web encourages this process very much. Considerable theoretical and methodological developments are necessary to combine existing cartographic culture with new geoinfomatic facilities. Such a development must include practical recommendations on mapmaking in modern technological conditions.To resolve this issue we need first to redesign a level of professional cartographic education. In the second place, it is necessary to implant some kind of cartographic culture to specialists in all branches of knowledge and activities.
