Emerging patterns in web mashups: An ecological view of web2.0 sphere
This article studies the web2.0 sphere(network formed by web2.0 mashups cooperations)from ecology perspective. The fast developing applications of information systems in Web2. 0 era attract our interests. We try to find the evolving rules of these systems. So we studied the key technique related applications and integrated systems. By ecological analysis, we found cropper principleworks in the evolution of Ping and RSS related systems. Based on this analysis, the potential niche vanity in Trackback related systems is discussed. Further according to the importance of open fabric in web2.0, our study focuses on integrated systems. Network analysis approach is referred to study the collaboration of web components and also the structure of integrated systems. The popularity of different component at different time is studied through harmomc centrality. And the whole structure of integrated systems is studied by cluster analysis. The ecological analysis on information systems helps us to grasp the rule of their evolution. To some extend it provides us capability to forecast the changing. The high speed developing and changing of web2.0 is still on going, the capability can instruct or direction. Further studies in this area need more of our work. There are lots of useful concepts and theories from ecology can be introduced to information systems analysis. Systemic investigation could be interesting.
