Research on BLDCM DTC with Simplified Structure
To solve those problems associated with direct torque control (DTC) of brushless DC motor (BLDCM), such as difficulty to control flux and complexity to estimate torque, a new BLDCM DTC scheme with simplified structure was studied in this paper: the flux hysteresis controller was ignored in the constant torque region and the back electromotive force shape function method was proposed to make the estimation of torque easier. The proper stator voltage space vector was selected via the output of the torque hysteresis controller and the sector which the current rotor flux locates in. The structure of the control system is simplified and the cost is reduced. Simulated and experimental results are presented, and it is shown that the feasibility and the simpleness of the scheme. It is also verified that the fast torque response merit is preserved. The scheme is easy to implement in the industrial application.
