Integration of Web-based Techniques and Business Strategies into the Development of a Network Supported System for Supplier Selection

Supplier selection plays a vital role in the process ofproduct development. The purpose of this research is tointegrate web-based technologies with business theoriesto establish a network supported system for supplierselection. A web-based Multi-Possibility SupplierSelection system has been developed, which helpsmanufacturers to make decisions for selecting suppliermore effectively and accurately. The business theoriesand Analytic Hierarchy Process approach have beenapplied in combination with ,lava Technology in thesystem. In this paper, the problems that exist in supplierselection are addressed first, followed by thepresentation of the methodologies employed in thisresearch, and then the structure and main feature of thesystem are described together with an example.
