Building Cooperative Translation Environment via Multi-tier Architecture
In a translation project participated by a lot of people,terms and vocabulary need to be unified and theformulation of key content to be consistent. Besides,mutual citation in context needs correspondence.Therefore a cooperative work among translators isnecessary. A use of multi-tier architecture is able toestablish a distributed cooperative translationenvironment(with management or not), in whichasynchronous and implicit cooperation are given prioritywhile synchronic and explicit cooperation act ascomplement. In this way every translator can gaininformation in time from others and provide neededinformation for them as well, which ensures a smooth andsynchronic translation. This article introduces relevantbackground, cooperative problems and ways to realizecooperation in a cooperative translation environmentand presents an assumption of multi-Agent cooperativetranslation in the future.
