Performance Prediction of Ground-Water Heat Pump System Using Artificial Neural Networks
This paper describes an application of artificialneural networks(ANNs)to predict the performance ofa ground-water heat pump system(GWHP).In orderto gather data for training and testing the proposedANN model,an experimental GWHP system wasoperated at steady state conditions.Utilizing someexperimental data for training,an ANN model basedon a multi-layered perception/back propagation wasdeveloped The performances of the ANN predictionswere tested using experimental data not employed inthe training process.The predictions usually agreedwell with the experimental values with the coefficientsof multiple determinations in the range of 0.947-0.9999,and mean relative errors in the range of1.3%-3.47%.The ANN approach shows high accuracyand reliability for predicting the performance ofGWHP systems.
