Study on Flyrock Control at Zhangqingang Limestone Quarry
Blasting is a hazardous component of surface mining. Serious injuries and fatalities result from I~ judgment or practice during rock blasting. This paper observd flyrock distances for 15 blasts at Zhangqingang limestone quarry along withblast design parameters were presented. The influence of blast hole diameter, burden, stemming length, powder factor, the condition of blast holes (dry or wet) and the initiation systems on generation of flyrock was analyzed and the most critical param.tiers for flyrock control were identified. Based on the analysis of results, suggestions are given to minimize the flyrock hazards at limestone quarries.
