Phosphorus removal from the effluent of Merger Johkaso using electrocoagulation
Using sacrificial anode material for treatment of wastewater containing phosphorus by electrocoagulation(EC),the effects of current density, electrode plate spacing, electrolysis time and sacrificial anode material were investigated.According to the results.the optimal conditions for the phosphorus removal in the EC treatment were obtained,I.e sacrificial anode of aluminum,4mA/cm2 of current density,2cm of plate spacing and 10min of reaction time were optimum.Under these conditions, phosphorus removal by electrocoagulation reached 100%.The kinetic analysis for the results obtained from the experiments indicated that the reaction of phosphorus removal by electrocoagulation obeved one-orderdynamics reaction.and its reaction rate constantwas k=0.2103.
