Degradation of high concentration pharmaceutical wastewater by Microwave-Fenton system
Amounts of wastewater from the process of producing Penicillin are discharged nowadays.Experiments were carried out using Microwave-Fenton system and the influent qualides were as follows:the COD concentration was 32,100 mg/L,the BOD concentration was 12,450 mg/L.The effects of the microwave power, the radiation time.the quantity of the catalyst and the oxidant on the treatment efficiency were observed. The results showed that the microwave enhanced Fenton system had a better efficiency compared with pure Fenton oxidation system. When the microwave powet was 150 W.the radiation time was 9 mm。the removal of COD could reach 51.79%and the ratio of BOD/COD increased from 0.272 to 0.638 with the addition of 0.727,2∥L Fe(N03)3 as the catalyst and 1.5 m/L 3%H2O2 as the oxidant.Consequently, the Microwave-Fenton oxiclarion system had a good efficiency, and benefited the bio-degradation of the wastewater as well.
