Alpine Atmospheric Electricity Monitoring on the Peak Terskol in 2004-2005
In July-August 2004-2007 atmospheric electrical monitoring was undertaken on the Peak Terskol (3003 m) near Elbrus. On the basis of experimental and theoretical researches it is fixed that the morning minimum and the evening maximum of the electric field and current density are caused by unitary variations of the ionosphere potential. The influence of space charge density on the electric field potential gradient is also analyzed. On the basis of correlation analysis and theoretical results the space charge is a probable cause of the local maximum origination in the electric field and current variations at the day time.
