Global Ecodesign Strategies and Assessment. Ecodesign Subject
Ecological design, eco-design or green design, aims to minimize environmental impacts caused by products during their life cycle.The main areas of interest of ecodesign are the materials and energies that a product needs and their possible reduction in order to improve their ecological quality. The global result of an ecodesign can be compared with the initial product or a reference product in a graph displaying the decrease in the number of materials and energies required by the new product and its ecological quality.Green design is on the way to achieve sustainability.The Ecodesign subject syllabus and an academic example are discussed.
