STUDY ON OSCILLATION IN A MULTI-TUBE GAS WAVE REFRIGERATOR

The oscillation and flow in a gas wave refrigerator is numerically simulated and experimentally studied.The results show that the pressure in the receiving tube is periodical and the pressure difference in the controlling pipe cause the jet flow’s oscillation. The oscillation also acts on the pressure difference. There is serious gas mix because of the high velocity from the nozzle and exhausting from the receiving tubes. When the gas is injected into the receiving tube, the velocity is much higher than that in exhausting tube. Shock wave and expanding wave occur in the receiving tube and cause great velocity gradient in the tube.
