AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF LOUVER-, WAVY- AND PLAIN-FIN FLAT-TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER PERFORMANCE UNDER FROSTING CONDITIONS
Flat-tube heat exchangers may hold promise in a wide range of systems, because they can provide higher heat transfer coefficients, lower pressure drop, and more compactness than their round-tube counterparts. Experiments are conducted under the frosting conditions using flat-tube heat exchangers with different fin configurations to examine the effects of geometric and environmental parameters on thermal-hydraulic performance. Results of frost accumulation, pressure drop and air-side thermal resistance during frost are reported.
