DESIGN AND RESEARCH ON LAB FOR LOW TEMPERATURE FROZEN SOIL

The research on frost-heave characteristics of soil should be done under the condition of low Temperature. The experiment and analysis of frozen soil should be simulated just like actual heat exchange in nature. The design of lab for low temperature frozen soil is followed by this principle. The structure of lab is a foundation pit about 27 m3, including direct and indirect refrigeration system. In direct refrigeration system, the temperature of air in the foundation pit could be adjusted from 10℃ to -40℃.And in indirect refrigeration system, the temperature of cycle salt liquor in brine coil could achieve -15℃.This lab could be used to simulate the freeze-thaw cycles of soil in nature. Temperature field and velocity field characteristic of the foundation pit are also analyzed in this paper.
