ANTICIPATING FUTURE WEATHER AND ENERGY TARIFFS FOR OPTIMAL CONTROL OF INDOOR CLIMATE
The objective of this research is to develop a methodology to augment classical climate controllers with a means to anticipate future external disturbances, esp. ambient temperature and electricity tariffs. Receding horizon optimal control (RHOC) is used for that. The algorithm used to solve the RHOC problem is presented. The technology is applied to the case of refrigerated potato storage. Both simulation and full-scale experimental results are presented. Industrial use is currently being prepared, based on these positive results.
