FIELD STUDY OF THE THERMAL COMFORT AND INDOOR AIR QUALITY IN SCHOOL BUILDINGS IN SHANGHAI
The thermal environment and indoor air quality of three types of school buildings in Shanghai were investigated. The classroom and dormitory are naturally ventilated, while the computer room is equipped with central air conditioning system. The results indicate that the air quality is in under the suggested standard level of the three rooms. The thermal comfort sense of classroom, computer room and student dormitory are different. The thermal comfort of the dormitory is the worst although the air quality is near to the other rooms for the crowd space of dormitory. The outdoor temperature affects the thermal comfort of computer room but classroom. At the same environment, the body thermal comfort sense is better in noon and evening and is worse in afternoon because people feel tired in the afternoon. The outdoor thermal environment is correlation with indoor comfort.
