EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON THE DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE OF AN EXHAUST-AIR HEAT PUMP WATER HEATER
The dynamic performance of an exhaust air heat pump water heater (EAHPWH) unit, which takes the exhaust air as heat source, has been investigated experimentally. The transient heating performance and cycle parameters of the EAHPWH system were measured under different environmental conditions in the psychrometric room. The experimental indoor air temperature ranged from 10℃ to 26℃ and the relative humidity from 40% to 80%. The experimental results indicate that when the indoor air temperature is 18℃ and the relative humidity is 60%, the maximum COP of the EAHPWH unit is about 3.4. As the indoor air temperature and relative humidity increase, the COP increases gradually. When the indoor air temperature is risen from 10℃ to 26℃ under the relative humidity 60%, the COP increases from 3.1 to 3.9; and the relative humidity from 40% to 80% under the air temperature 18℃, the COP from 3.1 to 3.6 . At the meantime it is found that when the water outflow temperature is 50℃, the discharge temperature of the compressor is lower than 107℃ and the pressure ratio is lower than 4.2. The frost formation did not occur on the evaporator under all of the experimental conditions.
