Image Dynamic Measurement and Its Application in Pneumatic Control System

The principle of image measurement system is to acquire the geometric parameters by processing target objects images. A dynamic measurement approach based on images is presented in this paper, and applied to the pneumatic control system. By continuously measuring the end-effector position of the pneumatic system, the kinetic parameters can be directly acquired according to the image information. And these parameters are referred to as the position closed-loop feedback of the pneumatic control system. To improve the accuracy of positioning, a subspace calibration and measurement method is proposed in this paper. The image space is partitioned into 5 image subspaces in which the calibrations are implemented. When measuring, different weights of the end-effector in each subspace are set according to the fuzzy membership of the end-effectors image in the subspace, and the final result is the weighted average of calculated measurement values in all image subspaces. Finally the pneumatic control experiments are implemented in order to verify the proposed approach. The experiment results show that high accuracy and good performance can be achieved in pneumatic control system with the use of the proposed image dynamic measurement method.
