A Design of Personnel Orientation System in Mine Based on RFID

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is an auto-identification technology by using radio to intercommunicate without touching. Using RFID, personnel identification and orientation system in mine can be completed. This paper designs a personnel orientation system in mine based on RFID which is made up of base station in mine, transmitter antenna, receiver antenna, reader and identification card, etc. The system uses two kind of frequencies, one is long wave and the other is shortwave to complete the reliable intercommunication. The encrypted signal of low frequency carrier wave is sent out from the transmitter antenna of base station in mine. The identification card taken with by mineworker is activated when it comes into the work area of a low frequency transmitter antenna and it sends out the information that includes encrypted target identification code simultaneously through the high frequency module in card. Being received by a receiver antenna, processed by the base station, the target identification code can be obtained from the carrier wave transmitted from an identification card and then send to the computer on ground. The safety management, including personnel orientation and attendance check and others, thus comes true.
