High Accuracy Geometric Localization Scheme for Wireless Sensor Networks
Sensors localization plays a very important role in wireless sensor networks. Many applications such as routing protocol, environment surveillance and target tracking need the sensors location. For low cost small sensor nodes, range-based localization techniques such as RSSI, TOA, TDOA, and AOA are impractical. On the other hand, many range-free localization schemes need a lot of anchors to acquire high location accuracy. In this paper, we propose a new range-free geometric localization technique-Iterative Ring Overlapping Localization Scheme (IROLS). Our scheme uses fewer anchors to get higher location accuracy. Simulation results show that IROLS performs better in location accuracy, localizable percentage and communication overhead than the other schemes.
