Study of Clad Rolling Technology on Super-heavy Plates

  After surface cleaning and weld combining to Q345D continuous casting billets,we can get compound billets.By vacuum-pumping the compound billet cave,packing and heating to 1220~1260℃,the compound billets are rolling during 1160~986℃on one of the medium plate production lines of Hebei Iron and Steel Group(HBIS).The products are Q345D super-heavy plates.The experiment include transverse tensile,the tensile of Z direction,scan of tension fracture,the microstructure observation in the bonding interface,clod bending and ultrasonic inspection etc.Examination results show that all mechanical properties of the Q345D compound plate meet the requirements of GB/T1591-2008 and GB/T6396— 2008.The average tensile strength on Z direction of Q345D compound plate is 537MPa,and the area reduction is from 45%to 52%.The cold bending property is good and the ratio of the bonding interface is higher than 99%.The tensile specimen fracture is mixing fracture and a small amount of toughness fracture.From the trial products and examination results,we can get two conclusions.Firstly,the vacuum composite rolling craft can achieve metallurgical combination of same composite interface material,and this craft can replace ingot casting rolling process for super-heavy plates.Secondly,It”s reasonable to explore dissimilar metal clad plate rolling craft on the basis of the super-heavy plate composite rolling craft research.
