Breast cancer detection based on multi-wavelength near-infrared blood oxygen sensing

Nowadays female health and lives are seriously threatened by breast cancer.Taking advantage of efficient diagnostic instruments to identify the disease is very meaningful in prolonging life and avoiding death. As a cheap invasive radiation-free technology,Near-infrared Spectroscopy is suitable for general examination of breast cancer.A discriminated method of breast cancer is presented using the deference between absorption coefficients and is applied to construct a blood oxygen detecting device based on Modified Lambert-Beer theory.Combined with multi-wavelength multi-path near-infrared sensing technology, the proposed method can quantitatively distinguish the normal breast and diseased one from the perspective of blood oxygen, and then make an objective judgment about the breast tumor according to its high absorption of near-infrared light.Phantom experiment is conducted to verify the validity of this method.Comparison between the result and the standard data achieved by spectrograph proves that the presented method is able to recognize the absorption differences between phantoms, which demonstrates its feasibility in the aspect of breast tumor detection.
