Mn2+ Doped ZnS/ZnS Core/shell Quantum Dots Capped with 3-Mercaptopropionic for Determination of Folic Acid
In this work,Zinc sulphide(ZnS)core-shell nanopaticles with the Mn2+ doped core and ZnS as the shell capped with 3-Mercaptopropionic acid(MPA)has been synthesized via chemical precipitation approach.Structure analysis was taken by XRD confirming phase purity.The TEM measurements depicted that the prepared nanoparticles are mono-dispersed and they have average diameter of 5nm.Photoluminescence property of ZnS:Mn/ZnS quantum dots was studied by PL-spectrometer.The fluorescence quenching of ZnS:Mn2+ QDs caused by folic acid(FA)was studied by Stern-Volmer equation.The linear range of quenching effect is concentration dependence from 2μM to 60μM.The prepared QDs were evaluated as a fluorescence probe for FA detection with a high sensitivity.The proposed method was applied in the determination of folic acid in folic acid tablet.The possible quenching mechanism is also studied.
