The Research Of Satellite Positioning Congestion Charge Technology in Beijing
Beijing as the capital of the People’s Republic of China,is the national politics,culture and international communication center,which also have more than twenty million peoples live here and more than 5.5 million vehicles run on roads”1”.Such huge population and cars in Beijing lead the urban roads’ transportation congestion very serious in recent years.So how to solve the urban transportation congestion is a challenge to the traffic engineers and city managers of Beijing.This paper first elaborates the causes of traffic congestion and the significance of congestion charge to relieve the transportation congestion in city and then introduce the successful international experience,meanwhile,describes the official policies to relieve transportation congestion implemented and experienced in Beijing.Now,with the advanced congestion charge technology spread all over the world,we cannot fall behind.Then the paper introduce the application of transportation congestion charge based on satellite positioning technology in Beijing combined with the city’s status.The research results can be a good reference for Beijing’s urban congestion charges.
