AN Overview of Shale gas exploration and development in China
shale gas resource is abundant in China,with great potential for reserve and production increase.The rapid development of natural gas lays the foundation for the shale gas development.The development of shale Gas is still in the early stage in China.As an abundant resource in China,marine shale gas has been actively and significantly explored and developed.CNPC started the shale gas research since 2005,10 years’ experience makes CNPC become one of the largest shale gas developer in China.This presentation will give the brief introduction on CNPC’s shale gas exploration and development process.It starts with shale gas resource and distribution.In this part,the geological distribution and resource assessment will be discussed.Then it goes to activities,major works and developing technologies in CNPC pilot area.It explained the achievement of CNPC.In the end,main challenges and problems in shale gas development will be presented.
