Academic and Research Information Service in the Age of Internet Plus
Internet Plus is an emerging research topic in China since the Central Government endorsed this initiative to integrate Internet and mobile technologies with traditional fields.Traditional academic and research library services have been vastly carried out by Internet technologies,rather than being transformed to innovative services.This article outlines the development of Internet studies,Internet Plus,and the challenges that traditional library services are facing.The author then introduces how innovative services can be integrated with Internet technologies in the field of academic and research information services,and illustrates the two frameworks by technological projects and system design.The author hopes that academic and research libraries in China can make use of this great opportunity of Internet Plus campaign to develop advanced innovative services and complete the transformation.
